Aims & Objectives
• The provision of a service to youths between the ages of 6-24, in Bethnal green and surrounding areas; in the first instance those who are Bangladeshi or from minority ethnic groups, but also prioritising all those who are unemployed, or underachieving at school, those who are vulnerable and those who are socially excluded.
• To provide a diversionary programme of sporting activities, suitable for both young men and young women with an intention of giving, particularly disaffected vulnerably young people a sense of purpose, identity and achievement.
• By creating a team spirit and identity, to foster healthy competition rather than hostility and violence
• To create a physically stimulating environment, which will channel energy and relieve stress and enable young people to bridge the gaps between peer groups from different areas.
• Through regular physical training, improve diet and abstention from substance abuse to improve and maximise overall health.
• Promote and celebrate diversity and harmony and co-operation amongst communities and groups of whatever race, creed, gender, age, sexual orientation and to foster and encourage shared interests and goals.
• To provide positive role models and mentors and to encourage access to other support services, which will reduce the “risk” of involvement in drug use, criminal activity, and violent conflict with other similar groups and generally disaffection from achieving mainstream.
• To foster self-discipline and control and a positive team spirit by building team skills and promoting a healthy life style to maximise young people’s physical potential.
• To widen young people’s horizons by helping them to develop their skills, talents and asininities and to compete in the widest forum possible.
• To foster and promote team sports and self-being amongst all young people, who have hitherto lacked opportunity, by helping them to maximise their potential to work toward aspiring to National and International Competition.
